Our Lenses
When it comes to lenses for our business, we only invest in the best! Though we have many lenses in our professional collection (some for specialty shots and others as back-ups to our main equipment), the following 6 have earned a permanent space in our camera bags! When booking a wedding with Keith and Lakyn, you can expect to see us use all of these lenses at least once as we share in your special day!
Canon 85mm f/1.2L II - Parents say that you aren't allowed to have a favorite child (which is why Lakyn and I are only having one haha). Unlike the "favorite child" dilemma, we are unapologetic when we say that the 85mm 1.2 is by far our favorite lens! The crisp, clear output and dreamy, creamy ultra-low aperture make this lens a go-to for every portrait situation that we come across!
Canon 50mm f/1.2L - The standard lens and focal length for most professional photographers, the 50mm 1.2 is always on one of Keith's two cameras at every wedding we shoot! Combining the same superior image quality and low aperture with a wider focal length than the 85mm makes this lens an all-around hero!
Canon 70-200mm f/2.8L - As the only zoom lens that we carry regularly, this work-horse allows us to catch intimate shots during ceremonies and receptions without being too close to the action! The image quality is the best of any zoom lens that you will find! This multi-purpose lens is a favorite of Keith's as he likes to move frequently throughout wedding ceremonies getting photos from every possible angle!
Canon 100mm f/2.8L - Arguably the best macro lens on the market, this piece of glass only gets about 15 minutes of use at each wedding we shoot, but the images that it captures are second to none! During wedding receptions, we grab this baby out of our bag and snap our close-up ring shots which are a complete surprise to the bride and groom until they get their photos back!
Sigma 35mm f/1.4 - The widest auto-focusing prime lens that we carry and our favorite non-Canon lens, the 35mm 1.4 sees a lot of action during a typical wedding day! This lens is a life-saver in tight, indoor spaces, meaning we use it often during the "getting ready" portion of your wedding day! This sharp, wide lens also lends its talents perfectly to family and group portraits!
Rokinon 14mm f/2.8 - One of the newest editions to our camera bag, this ultra-wide angle, manual-focus lens provides us with the ability to get our couples some insanely unique shots of their ceremony, reception, and venue as a whole! We may only take a few shots with the lens during the entire wedding day, but with what this lens can produce, it's totally worth it!
