Let me tell you about this weekend! We spent the entire day (12 hours!!) on Sunday with Alexa and Josh for a beautiful ceremony and reception at @amitycreekfarms . They’re original plans may have changed, but we were able so get some phenomenal photos regardless - including this quick shot that I set up as they’re last photo of the night! I set up two @godox_global ad200s with @magmod magspheres (one to light the couple and one to light the wisteria) and rushed the couple off the dance floor for a quick dip!! Definitely one of my favorite photos of the year!

We’re holding another dance photography workshop on the afternoon/evening of June 21st at Willow Creek Farm in Midland! We will have several backdrop/locations around the property and dancers will be given 5 minutes at each spot for a minimum of 20 minutes in front of the camera. Today marks the one year culmination of my first ever successful New Year’s Resolution! I had to wait for my treadmill to be delivered (which is why I started a little late), but since February 4th of 2023, I’ve closed all three rings on my Apple Watch (Exercise, Move, and Stand) every single day for an entire year. Most days I jogged on the treadmill and whenever we were out of town I squeezed in my 30 minutes before dance competitions and weddings. In all, I covered 781 miles and lost about 40 pounds in the process. This is by far the most consistently active I’ve ever been, and a far cry from the hospitalized/bedridden state I was in back in February of 2022. When I started, I could barely jog for a minute without wheezing, and now I’m up to running a full mile without stopping - something I’ve never been able to do in my life. I couldn’t have done it without @ifit and their awesome trainers (@johnpeelfitness) and I even became an ambassador for an awesome running lifestyle company - @alteregorunning . Here’s to another year of meeting my goals and taking control of my health!

I met Ashley over 10 years ago when I started teaching with her mom at Ardrey Kell High School! Since then I’ve photographed her senior portraits, prom pics, engagement photos, and this past weekend - her wedding! Since the middle of August we’ve photographed 16 weddings, 31 sessions (newborn, maternity, engagement, family) and driven almost 5,000 miles.
